Does That Functional Exercise Improve Function? (L)CHEK Institute

Mark Stone

The word "functional" is used to describe a multitude of different exercises, but what makes an exercise truly functional? Starting with functional anatomy and moving through client needs assessments, you will learn a simple and effective framework to help design fun and functional exercise programs. This lecture will show you how to analyze individual exercises and assess their application for a specific client. With that foundational knowledge, critical analysis of exercise trends and technologies is made easier, allowing you to think and reason rather than just follow the herd, resulting in superior program design skill and greatly improved results for your clients. How to Work In (L)CHEK Institute

Mark Stone

Somehow, people have come to believe that unless exercise leaves them utterly fatigued, it isn't working. No pain, no gain. This mindset has left therapeutic, health-building modalities very unpopular with the masses. In this lecture, Mark shares simple and effective methods to determine how much vitality one should really apply to movement to cultivate and maintain health and well-being. Working In is a system of modifying exercises so that the net result is energy accumulation; once your client meets and exceeds their physiological and psychological demands for energy, then and only then will they gain well-being through working out. Sponsored by CHEK INSTITUTE.

Vertical Integration: Making Your Training Business Work for You (L)

Dean Somerset

There are a lot of ways to make a living as a trainer in today's fitness industry, be it health clubs, studios, in-home, or distance training. But is there more? This session will show how you can make a substantial income as a fitness professional in addition to training clients. Learn about how a trainer at a health club made $1000 in two days while on his honeymoon, how a lease-holder at a training studio created a brand, how a guy with a laptop became a celebrity, and how you can do the same. This seminar is less about marketing and more about exploring your potential.

The CHEK Approach to Nutrition for the Fitness Professional (L)CHEK Institute

Mark Stone

This thought-provoking lecture shares the C.H.E.K Institute's approach to achieving optimal health by carefully considering the phrase "we are what we eat." Our whole body is constantly regenerating itself, using the food that we consume as building blocks. What do you want your eyeball to be made of? Fast food and protein powders, or nourishing, organic food? We need to go back to the basics, understanding the intimate earth - plant - animal - human relationship. Increase your vitality and health and that of all the people you work with by attending this lecture! Sponsored by CHEK INSTITUTE.
