Consumer Fitness Member - Workshop FAQ PDF Print E-mail

1) Do I have to take the workshops first in a specific order? Are there pre-requisites?

No, you may take whichever workshop interests you. There are no pre-requisites and no order in which you must complete the workshops.

2) Is there an exam?
No, the workshops are for you to learn about your personal health and wellness. There are no exams.

3) What will I do during the three hour workshop?
During the workshop you will learn about your health and wellness by completing both practical exercises and theory learning. The workshops are designed so that when you leave you have information that applies to you that you can use immediately!

4) What should I wear to the workshop?
You should wear comfortable clothing to the workshop. Although you will not be working out you will be active so come prepared to move!

5) Can I enroll into more than one workshop at a time?
Yes, you may take as many workshops as you like.

6) How do I register?
Click here to register online or click here to get a registration form that you may print and fax, or mail, to canfitpro. You may also contact us at 1 (800) 667-5622 ext 224 to register over the phone using a Visa or MasterCard.

7) How do I know that you have received my registration?
You will receive a receipt and confirmation, of your registration into the workshop, within two weeks of completing the payment for your workshop.

8) Do I receive a certificate of completion?
All participants in the canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education program receive a certificate of completion for each workshop.

9) Do I need to be certified or pursuing certification, to take a canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education workshop?
No, the workshops are designed so that anyone can learn what they need to improve their health and fitness knowledge. The canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education workshops are not a pre-requisite to canfitpro’s professional certifications.

10) How much does it cost to take a canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education workshop?
The Early Bird Workshop Fee is $29.00 + Applicable Tax, when you register more than two weeks in advance of the workshop date. This fee includes the workbook that you will receive at the workshop. The Regular Workshop Fee, applicable within the two weeks leading up to the workshop, is $39.00 + Applicable Tax.

11) Can I purchase only the workbook?

The workbook is included in the workshop fee and is not available for separate purchase.

12) Do I have to travel far to take a canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education workshop?
Workshops are hosted across Canada on a regular basis. For details on upcoming workshops, in your area, click here.

13) Is the workshop that I take in Halifax the same as the one I take in Vancouver or Toronto?
Yes, the workshops and materials are standard from coast to coast to ensure that you are receiving the most up to date information possible.

14) Is the membership expensive and what are the membership benefits?

For a limited time during the launch of the canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education program the canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education membership is being offered for FREE when you register for a canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education workshop! Membership entitles you to updates about and discounts for various events, and email newsletter to keep you informed.

15) Is the
canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education membership the same as the canfitpro professional membership?
The canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education membership is different than, and not transferable to, the canfitpro membership that certified members hold. Certifications include the professional programs of Fitness Instructor Specialist, Personal Trainer Specialist, etc. For more details on canfitpro’s professional programs click here.

16) If I am certified will I earn CECs by taking a canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education workshop?
The canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education workshops provide information at an introductory level and are not eligible for canfitpro CECs.

17) What about Canadian content?
canfitpro was started in Canada, for Canadians by Canadians. We bring you the best local, provincial and national coverage, as well as the international information that really counts!

18) Can you work with a local contact person, or do you deal with a faceless bureaucracy?
Your PRO TRAINER is your local contact, and the canfitpro office is always available to help you!

19) Can you reach a "real person" for assistance during regular business hours or will you be lost in voice mail systems?
Our office is staffed Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm EST. We return all phone calls within 24 business hours. No summer shut downs - we're here 12 months a year!

20) Does the organization offer a toll-free phone number for questions and assistance?
Why should you pay a long distance charge? Call us anytime on our toll-free number (1-800-667-5622) and we can help!

21) Do I need CPR to take the workshop?
Although CPR is a good training to have for your own personal use it is not necessary to enroll into a canfitpro Consumer Fitness Education workshop.

22) What if I have more questions?
